ABOUT THE EVENT

The 30th annual Northeastern Open Atlatl Championship will be held at the Chimney Point State Historic Site in Addison, Vermont, from Friday, September 19 to Sunday, September 21, 2025. It will be extra special this year with the hosting of the World Atlatl Association annual meeting, which starts on Thursday, September 18 with the US Open (contact Douglas Bassett for more information).  Details to come in the next few months about the WAA meeting. Chimney Point is working on a weekend package rate for both competitors and spectators.

On Friday, September 19, is the annual atlatl workshop from noon to 5:00 PM with Bob and Cheryll Berg of Thunderbird Atlatl. They will teach traditional and modern techniques of atlatl and dart construction, flint knapping, hafting stone points, and cordage making. Enjoy atlatl lore and coaching on the use of your new atlatl. Pre-registration required. Call 802-759-2412. Fee of $70 includes instruction and materials. Vermont Archaeology Month event.

On Sunday, September 21, is the second day of the ISAC competition, starting at 10:00 am. Participate or watch.
