The 2018 Annual WAA Meeting will be held at Graham Cave State Park located at 217 Highway TT, Danville, MO 63361-5509 The park is locate on the north side of Interstate 70, about 1 hour and 20 minutes (83 miles) west of St. Louis, MO, and about 2 hours and 30 minutes (180 miles) east of Kansas City, MO.  The event is scheduled to begin at 10:00 am and run through 12:00 noon on Sunday, Oct. 7. The town of New Florence is about 15 min east of the park. There are several decent motels within 10 min of the park in New Florence. Days Inn, Americas Best Value, America’s Best Inns, to name a few.

There are at least 10 good restaurants and cafes in New Florence, within 10 min of the park.

We will have access to the entire park, including the entrance to the cave. For a lot of info about the park, go to:
https://mostateparks.com/park/graham-cave-state-park

We will have two large fields adjacent to each other for competitions and plenty of paved parking available. The ISAC, the US Open, a modified European Round, Tic-tac-toe, and other targets, including the Moche Bird, will be available to use on an as needed basis. If we’re lucky, Brian and Dawn Wagner might bring some 3D targets, including a life sized Wooly Mammoth.

The Executive Committee Meeting will be held Friday the 5th in the lower level of the park office. I was thinking about holding that meeting at around 4-5pm. Then holding the Annual Meeting Saturday 6th. around 4-5pm at a park pavilion that will hold more people than the park office room. A boxed Chicken meal will be provided by a local caterer. The price for the meal will be announced later.  The park manager, Cade Harp, will give a talk about the history of the cave after the meal. I know the weather in the midwest in October can be unsettled, so the park manager has said they can wrap the pavilion with tarps if the weather turns bad.

The Loutre River, a mid sized river, is within walking distance of the throwing area. If anyone would be interested in kayaking, canoeing, etc.
US Open qualifications 10/4-10/6 (Thurs-Sat). $5 entry fee to cover costs of targets and trophies. Finals Saturday afternoon (about 3pm).
LATE UPDATE 10/1/18:  There is repair work at the Danville exit (170) on I-70. The bridge at the exit is still under repair, so travelers driving from the west will have to drive 5.6 miles to the New Florence exit (175) and double back on I-70 and take the Danville exit. Travelers from the east won’t be affected.
The planned meal is going to be grilled chicken, scalloped potatoes, baked beans with small apple, cherry and blueberry pies. The cost is $9.00 + tax per meal.
